Danny Crain's Wildlife Design

About the Artist

Raised in Tucson, Danny grew up hunting and fishing in Arizona. At 13, he enrolled in the Northwestern School of Taxidermy, a correspondence course out of an outdoor life magazine. With his Dad hanging over his shoulder, they managed to hang a few of their hunting memories on the wall. Eventually, he apprenticed with Jim Johnson, another local taxidermist, and honed his skills to a higher level. In 1986, Danny joined A.S.U.'s archery team, where he became a collegiate All-American and obtained a degree is secondary education. After becoming a physical education teacher in 1992, taxidermy began to fill those summer breaks and vacations teachers get. Spending countless hours reteaching himself the skills needed, Danny attained a level that has won him several awards at local taxidermy competitions, and pleased customers that demand quality in their mounts. Being blessed with a beautiful family and the opportunity to hunt with good friends, Danny continues that quest for excellence and balance that we all strive for in our lives.
